Memory theory
Doctrine that identical persons are those who share at least one experience memory.
Direct memory
A memory that a person can consciously recall.
Indirect memory
A memory that an earlier stage of a person can conciously recall.
Real memory
A memory of an event experienced by the person remembering it and was caused by the event it records.
Apparent memory
A memory of an event that either didnt happen or was not caused by the event it records (false memories)
Quasi-memory
An apparent memory (false) caused in the right way by an actual experience.
Quasi-desire
An apparent desire caused in the right way by an actual desire.
Psychologically connected
2 people P.connected: directly quasi-remember && quasi-desire the same things.
Psychologically continuous
2 people: P.continuous with one another if they form part of an overlapping of series of persons who are P.connected with each other.
Psychological continuity theory
Doctrine that identical persons are those who are P.continous with one another.
Brain theory
identical persons are P.continous with one another and whose psychology is caused by and realized in the same brain.
Nonbranching theory
identical persons are those who are P.continous with one another and whose causal connections are not branched.
Closest continuer theory
identical persons are those who are closest continuers of one another.
