6
Q

In the Marasculio procedure, what are the steps and formulas

A
  1. Phat 1 (do for all pops) oberved/column total
  2. Compare Phat 1 - Phat 2 (etc for all pops)
  3. Calculate CV for each
    a. calculate the x 2 for a = 0.05 (for example)
  • use k-1 degrees of freedom
then calcualte the rest of the equation (provided on exam)
  1. Compare Phat 1 - Phat 2 etc to the CV
  2. if Phat 1- Phat 2 is greater than CV12 then it is significant and therefore conclude the difference is in there

16
Q

If you get a question regarding a uniform distribution, what is the degrees of freedom

A

k-1

17
Q

with a uniform calculation, how do you calculate the expected number

A

find the mean of all the observed numbers - this is the expected for each

18
Q

if you reject Ho in a uniform distribution (ie mon, tues, wed, thurs ….) what can you say

A

significant, not uniform

19
Q

Marascuillo procedures is used for

A

testing the equality of 3 or more pop proportions

20
Q

In a normal distribution with 30 observations what would the expected number be

A

30/5 = 6
6 is the intervals
5 is the EXPECTED Number

21
Q

what is the degrees of freedom for a normal distribution

A

k-p-1

k - number of observations
p - 2 for mean and sd

22
Q

Using the Marascuillo procedure, when comparing phat 1 - phat 2 to cv12 what is significant

A

When p hat1 - phat2 > CV

Significant and this one is different
