-cross would be lifted upright
-victim would be left to die often through asphyxiation
-death time fluctuated between a couple hours to days

-he forgave the guards who executed him and talked to one of the men he was executed with and promised one that he would join God in Heaven

-after six hours: ‘Jesus called out with a loud voice ”Father, into your hands I commit my spirit” When he had said this he breathed his last’-Luke 23:46

What is hell
-Hell=eternal torment, physical torment -other think hell is a metaphor for separation from God (eternal peace and happiness)

-Christians believe heaven is a place they go to where they die -some believe in a day of judgement when everyone who has ever died is resurrected at the same time and go through to heaven -purgatory is a catholic only belief- a waiting room between judgment of heaven and hell- the purge of any sins before going into heaven
28
What is salvation and why is it needed
-meaning ‘saved from sin’ -Christians believe that all people are born with original sin (came from Adam and Eve when they disobeyed God) -sin during their lives is against God's teachings -to go to Heaven has to be without sin so there are ways that God can forgive sin (salvation)
29
What are the two types of Salvation
-Salvation through grace -Salvation through works
30
Salvation through works
-the belief that God will forgive anyone who works hard to follow God’s rule -if you sin you should truly repent
31
Salvation through Grace
-the belief that God will forgive anyone who believes in him -some Christians believe that you have to be Christian for this other believe you can just follow an Abrahamic religion

-means making up for something
