Walsingham

A

a lady of the manor in walsingham claimed to see a vision of the virgin mary telling her how to build her house. when the augusten monks became in charge of the site, it became a pilgrimage and shrine where the pilgrims go to evening prayers and services. the site is known ‘england’s nazerth’

Jerusalem

A

this is the one place where jesus lived for the latter years of his life, died, was buried and resurrected. people come here to celebrate easter. on good friday, they walk the Via Dolorosa ‘the way of sorrows’ which is the same walk that Jesus did on the way to his crusifiction. another place that the pilgrims go are the Holy Sepulchre where Christians rub oil onto the statue and rub it off with handkerchiefs to take some of the statue home with them.

the largest christian church in the world is over St. Peters grave, who was one of Jesus’ disciples. the pope also lives here and gives random speeches
