what is budd chiari syndrome

A

Budd-Chiari syndrome (BCS) is a rare disorder characterized by obstruction of blood flow out of the liver, specifically through the hepatic veins. This obstruction can be caused by a blood clot or other blockage anywhere along the venous path from the small hepatic veins to the inferior vena cava.
