What are the rights and duties/obligations of a citizen?

A

1. The right to Freedom of Speach
Every one has the right to meetings and publications, and the right to say what they want provided it is not against the law except during times of ghost town, polytical unrest or state of emergency

  1. The right to Equailty before the law
    Every one is equal before the law, no one is above the law
  2. The right to Association
  3. The right to Worship
    Everyone can worship where they want provided it does not pose a threat to national security
  4. The right to life
    Every one has the right to exist and no one has the right to exist more than another
  5. The right to Ownership
    No one shall be deprived of owning or using their property
  6. The right to Vote
  7. The right to Edution
    Every one has the right to some basic level of education
  8. The right to Good reputation
    Everyone has the right to a good reputation and shall not be defamed either by libel or slander
  9. The right to safety and freedom
    No one shall be improsoned except through due process of the law, if some is imprisoned falsely they shall be released through habeas corpus

The obligations/duties of citizens include:
Every citizen shall:
-> be law abiding
-> pay taxes
-> be loyal and patriotic
-> protect state property

What are human rights and what are the characteristics of human rights?

A

Human are inherent rights that every one has regardless of relgion, origin, gender e.t.c they are protected by international law and garantee the protection, of civil, political, social, and cultural rights e.t.c
Characteristics of human rights include
Universality: Human rights are universal to everone regardless of they are or where their from
Equality: Human rights promote equality and fainess meaning every one has the same human rights
Protection: Human rights exist to assure prottection, safty and other basic neccessity like housing, food, or education
Progressive: Human right change and improve base on time and available resources

How can cameroonian citizenship be aqquired or lost?

A

The several ways by which cameroonian citizen ship can be aqquired(MTN, Benoir Daint Denis)
1. Marraige: With marriage there are 2 scenarois in which can obtain cameroonian citizen ship:
-> A foriegn woman upon marrying a Cameroonian man can request for Cameroonian nationily, but this request is subject to goverment approval
-> A foreign man can naturalise into the country without any probation period if married to a cameroonian woman

  1. Territorial Aquisition:
    If cameroon aquires new territory all those already in that territory aqquire Cameroonian nationality
  2. Naturalisation:
    Any foreigner can request for cameeroonian citizenship if they meet the following chriteria:
    -> They must have live in cameroon for 3 consegative years
    -> They meet cameoon’s health and character standards
    -> They have their main interest in cameroon
  3. Birth:
    Aqquiring Cameroonian citizenship through birth is possible through 3 scenarios:
    -> The child is born of 2 cameroonian parents
    -> The child is born legimately of atleast one cameroonian parent
    -> The child is born illegimately and the first parent to be traced is Cameroonian or The first parent to be traced has unknown nationality and the second parent traced is Cameroonian
  4. Descent:
    Any child born of Cameroonian parents regardless of where they are born can aquire cameroonian nationality
  5. Declaration:
    Any child born of foreign parents in cameroon can aquire Cameroonian nationality 6 months before reaching majority age if they have lived in the country for atleast 5 consergative years

On the hand losing Cameroonian nationality can primarily be done in two ways:
1. Criminal Activity: Any adult involved in criminal activity or convited of a felony is at risk of losing their Cameroonian nationaliy

  1. Dual nationality:
    Cameroon does not accept dual nationaliy so any Cameroonian naturalising in anther country is forced to relinquish their cameroonian nationality

What are the requirements and process of adoption in Cameroon?

A

To adopt a child in Cameroon parents must be able to meet the following requirements
1. Residency: The parents must have live with the child for atleast 3 consegative months
2. Age: One parent must be at least 40 years old or 35 years and they must have been married for atleast 10 years old if not, then the parrents must provide medical proof of infetility
4. Marrage: Both parents must be married to each other, and this marriage can not be a single sex marraige
5. Agreement: Both parents must consent to adopting the child

The process for adoption in cameroon is follows:
The prospective parents apply for an adoption decree from, the high court, they must then meet the obove metioned requirements, Cameroons cetral adoption agency will the provide the parents with a referal to the child where they must then decide if they can meet the needs of said child. A social worker is then assigned to the parents to assist them throught out the process of which at the end the social worder provides a report on the parents, after this report the parents can then take the case back to the high court, if the both the child and the parents are eligible for adoption then the court shall grant them their adoption decree and they can take the child home.

Normative ethics is concerned with establishing norms and standards of morality while descriptive ethics is the study of how people behave and perceive morality
