Stonewall riots in front of gays bar & newspaper brought attention to mvmt
no laws passed in 60’s but IL first state to allow same sex relations became legal after Lawrence v TX

wanted to gain respect & land back
Dennis Banks & Russell Means founded AIM drawing attention to issues
Occupied Alcatraz & Wounded Knee getting land back
Trail of Broken treaties- marched to DC demanding for better conditions & respect
