Q

What is binomial nomenclature?

A

A two name classification system divided by genus (capitalized) and species (lower case). Scientific names are italicized or underlined.
This system has levels, each level is called a taxon. They get more specific the further down you go.

Q

What are rules for creating dichotomous keys?

A
  1. There has to be one less step than # of organisms
  2. The last step should allow for the identification of the last two organisms

Q

What are the traits of bacteria?

A

-Unicellular
-No nucleus
-No distinct organelles (Prokaryotic)
-Rigid cell wall of peptidoglycan
