Rules of mel/thaat
A
- based on 12 swaras of saptak
- has to be sampurna means all 7 need to be shuddha
- no requirement of Aaroh, avarah in Mel/thaat
- Mel/thaats not sung so doesn’t need vaadi, sanvadi, pakad, gaan samay, aalap, and tana.
- Ranjakta is not nessesary for thaat

- requires Aaroh, Avaroh, and ranjakta
- Either Ma or pa is required to form a raag
- two types of same swar (Komal and shuddha or shuddha and tiwra0 cannot appear one after another
