A
- client and design team discuss needs of client and the product they want
- an agreement
- advantage: design team has their opinions and ideas heard in final idea
- final idea combines views of both client and designer
- often take longer
- can end up being quite different from initial idea client had

- could be either word processed or a presentation
- provides enough detail for a face to face meeting to not be needed
