Define Weather:
Weather is the condition of the atmosphere at a particular place over a short period of time. Weather can change every few hours.
Define Global Warming:
The long-term rise in the average temperature of the Earth’s climate system.
Define Climate:
The average weather, recorded over a period of not less than 20 years of a particular place.
Define wind:
Moving air
Define evaporation:
The change from a liquid to a gas (water vapour).
Define condensation:
The change from a gas to a liquid (water).
What does an anemometer do?
It measures the wind speed in knots.
1 knot = 1.852km
What is a barometer?
It measures the atmospheric pressure. Measures in hectopascals (hPa)
What is cloud cover measured in?
Eigths or Oktas
Wind vane?
Measures wind direction using compass points.
Thermometer
Measures temperature in degrees celsius.
Rain gauge:
It measures the amount of rainfall in mm.
