HEURISTICS
cognitive biases- intuitive mental shorts gut feeling- give an approx. answer to a problem quickly
availablity bias
to make a decision based on previous cases seen
anchoring bias
to fixate on first impressions. once the anchor is set the other judgments are just ways to move away form the anchor
premature closure bias
making a decisions based on limited evidence without considering other explanations
framing bias
being swayed by the way a problem is phased
representative bias
assuming that just because A resembles the group people called B that A does belong to B
conformation bias
the tendency to favor information that confirms their beliefs or hypotheses.
