explain the crack to stack formation
water crashes against the soft rock forming a crack. when water seeps through this crack, it becomes bigger. corrosion corrasion and hydraulic pressure occur and form a sea cave. erosion results in this becoming wider, and deeper, eventually cutting through the headland which forms an arch. the roof gets eroded at base and gets thinner which leaves it unsupported so it falls and creates a stack.
what is longshore drift?
the process where beach material is moved along the coastline
what is a wave cut notch?
a section of rock usually at the base of the cliff (eroded by waves)
what is a wave cut platform?
a narrow flat area often seen at the base of the cliff.
