Q

What problems were caused because of the coastal management (Holderness coast)

A
  • Groynes protect local areas -> cause narrow beaches further down (Cowden farm is at risk of falling into the sea)
  • Rate of coastal retreat along the Lincolnshire coastline increased -> Because less material is being added
  • Spurn head is at risk of being eroded away -> Less material is being added to it
  • Material produced from erosion is normally transported south into the estuary -> Reduced material increases flooding (less material to slow water down)
