What is Campari?

A

Campari is an Italian alcoholic liqueur, considered an apéritif - obtained from the infusion of herbs and fruit (including chinotto and cascarilla) in alcohol and water. It is a bitters, characterised by its dark red colour.

Chinotto is a type of carbonated soft drink produced from the juice of the fruit of the myrtle-leaved orange tree.
Cascarilla bark is also used to flavor the liqueurs Campari and Vermouth.
