It is good because the events in reverse chronological order

This is to verify accuracy and identify errors and prevent schemas filling in the blanks

6
Q

Related evidence into improving eyewitness testimonies with cognitive interviews

A

GEISELMAN: showed pts vid on simulated crime, tested recall by standard interview + cog interview. Cog interview promted most info ∴ show it is more effective

FISHER: Trained detectives to use CI w/ real eyewitnesses – CI considerable incr. the amount of info recalled incl. foresnsically rich info
BUT need to be careful with misleading info

Requires special training + police officers do not have the time to conduct full CI

Experimental Reductionism: reduces accuracy + amount of info recalled by eyewitness to the technique used to interview them.
