Why did the Hungarian revlution happen
Poor living standards with little freedom

Stalinist Hungarian leader who used terror and burtality for control. Had secret police (AVH) which was dreaded. Got rid of religous teaching and leader of Catholic Church in Hungary imprisoned.
Hungarian economy
Controlled by Soviet Union through Comecon and traded on uneven terms. Had five year plan devoted on production of steel but couldn’t cook it lving standards dropped and Rakosi unpopular
