A
- Global economic growth is in cycles - start of cycles linked to the development of a new field (e.g. IT in late 1990s) - gov spending stimulated new growth during a recession
- Countries who are part of the start of the next new field gain superpower status
China’s been investing lots in green technology - could be the next new thing

A
- Core, semi-periphery, periphery
- Transfer of goods and money uneven between developed + developing world
