- Stalins control over communist party’s
- COMECON was the council for Mutual Economic Assistance. This was a centralised agency that linked the Eastern bloc countries to Moscow. It was designed to ‘stimulate’ and control their economic development, and support the collectivisation of agriculture and the development of heavy industry.

- October 1947, he set up Cominform. Every Communist party in Europe joined. This allowed Stalin control of the Communists in Europe.
