    I try to clarify the expectations and reasons for collaboration before I allow them to work in groups or pairs.
    Show the relevance of curriculum and lessons. I want the students to feel they are connected to the content culturally, socially and personally.

Epistemic diversity is the ability or possibility of producing diverse and rich epistemic apparati to make sense of the world around us.
Reflecting on questions of epistemological nature can help educators to be more intentional in their teaching
There are five outcomes of cross-cultural encounters: assimilation, miscibility, and being different together (including unity in diversity, harmony with diversity, and together with diversity).
