- NCAS supports the education and development of coaches.
* It provides training and coaching qualifications.
Best practice
A method of doing something that is seen to be the most successful at achieving the desired outcome. Often recommendations that come from experts in the field.
Needs and expectations of participants
Assist with self-improvement- People may want the cosmetic benefits from exercise or to improve their physical health such as weight loss and muscle gain.
Fitness targets- People may want to achieve specific fitness targets such as improving their speed or endurance.

A situation or object that poses a level of threat to life,health,property or environment.

Warm up steps-
Component 1- (low intensity activity)-
Short jog or skipping
Component 2- (dynamic stretching)-
Leg swings, lunges, arm swings, butt flicks, squats
Component 3- (sports specific activity)-
Catching or throwing practice, kicking for goal, shooting practice.
Cool down steps-
Active cool down- (lowering intensity)
Slow jog coming to a walk
Passive cool down- (static stretching)
Standing quadriceps stretch, series of any static stretches
Contraindication-
Anything that may interfere with the athletes ability to do the warm up.
Eg- recent muscle injury, sprains and strains, torn ligament

Hazard identification methods-
Talking with staff- asking them to identify any potential hazards they see. Eg- through meeting or one on one.
Conduct physical inspections- Conduct a walkthrough of the workplace using a checklist.
Encourage worker participation-
Valuing their participation- Important that employees don’t feel that the process is a waste of time. Be supportive and thank them.
Asking questions- gives people the opportunity to speak up and voice their opinions.
Risk control options-
Effective safety is as easy as pie
Elimination, substitution, isolation, engineering controls, administrative controls, PPE
Risk control criteria-
Cost- weigh up the costs involved.
Time- how long it will take to implement the controls.
Resource availability- does the company have the equipment and staff required to implement the risk controls.

Performing stage-
- Group members will accept each others strengths and weaknesses.
- Group will work efficiently towards goals.
