Communication
derived from the Latin word “communis”, which meaans “commons.
Communication (definition)
The process of exchanging ideas, thoughts, feelings and emotions from one person to another wth the ue of symbols that may be verbal / non-verbal and aims for understanding

The one who initiates the conversation
Receiver
Provides the sender with feedback which may promp the sender to clarify the message or signal to carry on as planned
Message
Made up of ideas and feeliings that a sender / receiver wants to share with others

an interference that prevents the message from being understood

External noise - from the physical environment
Internal noise - confined in the psyche
Context
refers to the surrounding / environment that helps shape the interaction between and / or among individuals
Types of context
Physical context - time, environment, and distance
Social context - the relationship both parties have
Psychological context - mood, emotions of the communicators in a moment of communication
Cultural context - beliefs and norms of the participants. gender, age, social status, religion, nationality
Purposive Communication
an intentional communication that happens within the bound of a specific context
