John Collins

A
  • 2 oz whiskey
  • 1 oz lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon simple syrup
  • 2 cups ice- divided
  • 2 oz club soda
  • 1 orange slice
  • 1 lemon slice
  • 1 maraschino cherry

COLlINS glass

In a cocktail shaker: Combine -whiskey -lemon juice -simple syrup

ADD: -1 cup of ice (cover & shake until chilled) STRAIN into COLLINS glass filled with ice, club soda & stir

GARNISH

  • Lemon slice
  • Orange slice
  • Maraschino cherry

Mint Julep

A
  • 2.5 oz whiskey
  • 3/4 oz simple syrup
  • 1 bunch of mint
  • Crushed ice

Glass: TIN MINT JULEP cup or HIGH BALL

Muddle mint into glass

Combine Mint, simple syrup, whiskey into glass Add crushed ice

Garnish with mint

Tin mint julep cup or highball glass

Vieux Carré

A

3/4 ounce rye whiskey 3/4 ounce Cognac 3/4 ounce sweet vermouth 1 barspoon (1 teaspoon) Bénédictine liqueur 1 dash Peychaud’s Bitters 1 dash angostura bitters Ice Lemon twist, for garnish Old fashioned glass Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass. Fill with ice. STIR-20 seconds STRAIN into ice filled old fashioned glass. Garnish with a cherry.

Manhattan

A
  • 1 1/2 oz RYE whiskey
  • 3/4 oz sweet vermouth
  • 2 Dash of bitters
  • Orange Peel
  • Maraschino cherry

Glass: COUP or LOW BALL

Add all the ingredients into a mixing glass with ice, and stir until well-chilled.

Strain into a chilled coupe.

Garnish with a brandied cherry.

Old Fashioned

A
  • 2 oz whiskey
  • 1 sugar cube OR 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
  • Cherry for garnish
  • Orange peel

Glass: ROCKS

Add all the ingredients to a mixing glass.

Fill with ice, stir again and strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice.

Twist slices of lemon and orange peel over the drink and drop them in.

Whiskey Sour

A
  • 2 oz whiskey
  • 1/oz simple syrup
  • Juice of fresh lemon (1/2 lemon)
  • Orange slice
  • Cherry

Add all the ingredients to a shaker filled with ice and shake.

Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice.

Garnish with a cherry and lemon wedge.

Irish Coffee

A
  • 1 1/2 oz whiskey
  • 1 1/oz oz teaspoon sugar
  • 4 oz hot, strong black coffee
  • Sprinkle of cinamon or chocolate curls
  • Whipped Cream

Serve in a MUG

Filling an Irish Coffee mug with hot water, let sit for 2 minutes, then discard the water.

Add the whiskey and sugar to the glass, fill with the coffee, and stir.

Top with an inch of unsweetened lightly whipped cream.

Build in a rocks glass. Garnish with a lemon peel.

Penicillin

A
  • 2 oz whiskey
  • 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 3/4 oz honey-ginger syrup
  • 1/2 oz Single Malt Scotch
  • Garnish: Candied Ginger

Glass: ROCKS GLASS

Add the blended scotch, juice and syrup into a shaker with ice and shake.

Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.

Top with the single-malt scotch.

Garnish with 1 piece of candied ginger.

*Honey-ginger syrup: Combine 1 cup honey, 1 6-inch piece of peeled and thinly sliced ginger and 1 cup water in a saucepan over high heat, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium, and simmer 5 minutes. Place in the refrigerator to steep overnight. Strain with a cheesecloth.

  • Orange twist

Glass: ROCKS or COCKTAIL

Add all the ingredients to a rocks glass filled with ice and stir to combine.

Garnish with an orange twist.

To serve the drink up, add all the ingredients to a mixing glass and fill with ice.

Stir, and strain into a cocktail glass.

Garnish with an orange twist.

New York Sour

A
  • 2 oz Rye whiskey
  • 3⁄4 oz Simple syrup
  • 1 oz Lemon juice
  • 1 Egg white (optional)
  • 1⁄2 oz Red wine

Glass: ROCKS

Add all the ingredients except the wine to a shaker and fill with ice.

Shake well and strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice.

Carefully pour the wine over the back of a spoon so it floats on top of the drink.
