  • Epilepsy (especially after encephalitis and abscess)
  • Hemiparesis

how to prevent complications of viral encephalitis and bacterial meningitis

A
  • Prompt aggressive treatment of infection
  • Dexamethasone with abx for meningitis reduces deafness
  • Screening for impairments and rehab after infection
