cardiovascular endurance definition
the ability of the heart and lungs to supply oxygen to the working muscles

- run over 20m distance
- individual must run and keep in time with bleeps
- time between bleeps gets shorter as level increases
- athlete must arrive at cone before beep and wait until next beep to continue running
- individual keeps going until they can’t keep up with the beeps (they have one or two attempts to keep up with beeps)
speed definition
speed is the maximum rate at which an individual is able to perform a movement or cover a distance in a period of time, putting the body parts into action as quickly as possible

- place 2 cones 30m apart
- individual uses a flying start
- is timed running the 30m distance as fast as they can using a stopwatch

the ability to overcome a resistance

maximal strength definition
the absolute maximum force that can be generated in one contraction
maximal strength test

how to complete one rep max test
- lift a weight using correct technique
- if completed keep adding weight until the heaviest weight an individual can possibly lift is discovered
- if a weight can’t be lifted attempt lighter weights to calculate the max weight that can be lifted
