What is a computer?
A computer is an electronic device that processes data to produce meaningful information. It can perform input, process, output, and storage functions.
What are the main types of computers?
Desktop – A personal computer designed for regular use at a single location.
Laptop – A portable personal computer.
Server – A computer that provides services or resources to other computers over a network.
Supercomputer – A powerful computer used for complex scientific calculations and simulations.
What is the IPOS model?
Input – Receiving data (e.g., keyboard, mouse)
Processing – Performing operations on the data (e.g., CPU)
Output – Delivering results (e.g., monitor, printer)
Storage – Saving data for future use (e.g., hard drive, SSD)
Give an example of IPOS in action.
Typing a document:
Input: Keyboard inputs text
Processing: CPU processes keystrokes
Output: Text appears on screen
Storage: File is saved to hard disk
