What is a LAN?
Collection of connected computers in a small geographical location
What is a WAN?
Collection of connected computers in a large geographical location
What is Bandwidth?
Maximum amount of data that can be sent across a network at once
What is a client-server?
Network which has designated roles for each computer, to request services or to deliver services

Glass cable used to transfer data over short distances, using light

All devices connect to a single central device
What is a mesh topology
All devices connect to each other device

String of unique numbers used to pinpoint where your device is logically connected
What is a Media Access Control Address?
String of unique numbers used to pinpoint where your device is physically connected
What is a Cloud?
Using other computers remotely to perform a service
What is an application layer?
What the user uses (google, emails)
What is a transport layer?
Breaks data into packets, reassembles packets
What is a Network layer?
Addresses and routes packets
What is a Data Link Layer?
Sets format of data (so can be read by any device that follows same format)
