Q

Refer to question

A

In conclusion, it is clear that legal impediments and the “separate but equal” decision of the supremacy court were important obstacles in preventing black people from achieving civil rights by 1941. This is because the decision made the system of segregation difficult to challenge and it also allowed Southern state legislators to introduce more Jim Crow laws which penalised black people.

Q

A lack of political voice

A

A lack of political voice did play a significant role in preventing black people from achieving civil rights as it made it almost impossible for them to gain the right to vote, however black people would not of had a lack of political voice if it wasn’t for the deep-rooted prejudice and racism in American society up to 1941.

Q

Divisions in the black community

A

There also wouldn’t have been division in the black community if racism didn’t didn’t exist in American society as black peoples would not of had to campaign for their basic rights. Overall, popular prejudice and racism was the most important obstacle to black people achieving civil rights before 1941.
