Q

What is dorsalscapular luxation

A

Trauma secondary to falling from a height can cause partial or complete rupture of the muscles stabilizing the scapula which will displace the scapula, especially during weight-bearing activities
- after a few days, the inflammation will subside, and the cat will begin to bear weight with an unusual gait because the scapula is dorsally displaced with each step

Q

What are the main causes for carpal hyperextension

A

Falling from a height is commonly associated with luxation, subluxation or hyperextension of the carpus

The carpus may also become hyperextended due to a degenerative process associated with immune-mediated arthritis
