november 1943
first big 3 meeting > want USSR cooperation
1) brit and US second front in nazi invaded france
2) USSR invade germany from east
3) USSR agree to join and invade japan when germany defeated
4) polish border move west and occupy germany territory USSR move into the east polish territory
5) organisation created to settle disagreements > plan for UN
yalta conference
february 1945
aim to win WW2 and govern post war europe
red army was getting stronger and USSR had power, wanted satellite states
roosevelt and churchill scammed about free elections in satellite states
1) germany $20 bil in reparations
> split into 4 economic zones for the allied powers
2) USSR confirmed to fight in japan
3) free elections in soviet occupied eastern europe
> gain land in poland
4) establishing the UN
relations starting to break down

roosevelt died and replaced w truman hardliner
halted lend lease bc USSR dependent on it > economic advantage
US atom bomb end war in japan quick and prevent red army occupy japan
UN established
1) germany into 4 occupation zones
2) nazi party banned, war criminals persecuted
3) berlin 4 zones too
4) USSR 25% of industrial benefits from germany’s other 3 zones
