Conformity Flashcards
(37 cards)
Ambiguous
not clear or undecided
Ambiguous situations
difficuly to understand and /or no clear answer to the task or question
Androcentric
male centered study or view
Anonymity
no link between the answers given and the participants names or faces - has a better chance of showing accurate conformity results

Generalisability
how likely it is that other people would behave in the same way as the participants. The more diversity there is within a sample then more generalisable the results will be
Group size
factor affecting conformity - bigger the majority the higher the conformity - 2 confederates = 12.8% of the trials whereas 3 confederates = 32% conformity.
