Timeline of Perkin Warbeck

A

1491 nov- travelled to Ireland as pretender
1492- received by King Charles VIII in France. Yorkist sympathisers travelled to Paris to give their support
1492- received by Margaret of Burgundy, who claimed Warbeck as her nephew and trained him to be a prince
1492 nov- Treaty of Etaples meant Charles III withdrew his support for Warbeck
1493- Henry 7 suspended trade with Burgundy, in response with the harbouring of Perkin Warbeck
1493- Maximilian I, the Holy Roman Emperor, recognised Perkin Warbeck as King Richard IV of England
1494- henry 7 imposed econmic sanctions on the HRE
1494- Henry 7 seized land and property of Sir William Stanley, the Lord Chamberlain and traitor
1495- Warbeck landed in Kent with an invasion force but failed
1495- Warbeck fled to Ireland where he was welcomed by King James IV, who supported him and provided him a £1200 annual pension
1496 sep- james Iv and Warbeck invaded England with a small army, was defeated and returned back to Scotland
1496- Henry offered his daughters hand in marriage to James IV if he stopped supporting Warbecks claim
1497- henry threatened war with james if he didn’t surrender Warbeck. James IV was expelled and the Truce of Ayton was agreed
1497- Warbeck sought sanctuary at Beaulieu Abbey and was arrested a month later
1498- Warbeck tried to escape and was imprisoned in the tower of London
1499- Margaret of Burgundy sent an official apology to Henry 7
1499 nov- Perkin Warbeck was executed
