Advantages:
- Packaging is good for consumer as can keep food fresher for longer preventing food waste
- is bright and colourful encouraging customers to buy it increasing variety in diet
- packaging contains data which lets them know when it goes off preventing food poising
Disadvantages:
- Some don’t clean packaging and so can’t be recycled bad for environment as ends up in landfill
- animals may get stuck/injured/eat packaging and become harmed
- packing made using fossil fuels which is contributing to global warming

Advantages:
-Foods are cheaper to produce and so more easily affordable by those on budget
Consumers are mostly unaware of the conditions therefor buy factory farmed foods as they know no difference

- Conditions animals are kept in is horrible and are treated cruelly
- possibly animal diseases spreading and passing into humans
- use of antibiotics and growth hormones may find their way into human food chain
