How are Webex licenses assigned?
On a per user basis

How do you verify a domain?
Org Settings > Domains
How do you override license assignments already made?
User > Profile > Licenses - changes here override existing automatic assignments
If license assignment on group-based management, what happens to their licenses when they are moved from one group to another?
If preserve license toggle is ON, licenses are kept when moved to previous group. If toggle is OFF, they loose them.
Where can Admins view their license counts?
Account > Subscriptions > License summary
What is the Automatic license assignment scope?
Scope of a license assignment - determine if changes apply to only future or existing users.
What three steps are needed to set an org up with success?
- Verify the domain (to bind Webex to company’s domain name)
- Claim users (to be managed)
- Claim domains (to ‘lock out’ your domain and keep users in your org, not the commercial org)
What does it mean to verify a domain in Control Hub?
It’s a security step to validate customer/partner has authority to administer Webex at that domain.
What does it mean to claim a domain in Control Hub?
Users are automatically added to the managed org and not the commercial org.
How do you claim users who have signed up for Webex using your domain?
Users > Add users + > Claim Users modal
What does site linking refer to?
Webex orgs currently managed in the old Webex Site Admin tool
Can you claim a domain in two different organizations?
No, the purpose of domain claim is to prevent other orgs from using the domain. (But you can release the domain if you want to claim it in another org)
How do you claim a domain in Control Hub?
Org settings > Domains
What are the three methods of adding users to Webex in Control Hub?
- Manually add users
- CSV add or edit
- ## DirSync with LDAP directory
- Claim user method (technically doesn’t add … just moves)
- Self Registration - User signs up (in claimed domain) and gets added to the managed org
Which directories are compatible with Control Hub?
Microsoft AD, Azure AD, and Okta
What is the purpose of a Directory Connector?
Provides a secure link from on-prem Active Directory to Webex (CI).
What is LDAP?
Lightweight Directory Access Protocol - most common protocol to communicate with and manage directories.
What is Microsoft AD and how is it different from Microsoft Azure AD?
Microsoft’s directory server - primarily used on private networks behind a firewall and supports LDAP. Azure AD is a cloud-based directory service
Is a directory sync one way or two way operation between the corporate directory and Webex?
One way
What are the steps to set up SSO in Control Hub?
Security > Authentication > > Activate SSO wizard. Then in Manage SSO window > activate SSO
What are the benefits of SSO?
Outsources authentication and identity management, users do not need to sign in (Reauth) to every application that uses the IdP
What are the 5 user statuses in Control Hub?
Active (part of org, ready to use services),
Verified (email verified, but not logged in),
Not Verified (hasn’t verified their email),
Pending (hasn’t accepted a cross-org invite),
Inactive (deactivated)
