Q

How do Slowly adapting pulmonary stretch receptors work?

A

Respond to large lung volumes (inflation)
EXPIRATION
1. terminates inspiration and prolongs expiration
2. activates abdominal muscles for expiration

Q

How do Rapidly adapting pulmonary stretch receptors work?

A
respond to changes in lung inflation (rapid large changes) and inhaled irritants
