GH Joint IR/ER SD: MET

GH Joint Flexion/Extension SD: MET

GH Joint AB/ADduction SD: MET

SC Joint ABduction/ADduction Dx
Scapular Elevation (Shoulder Shrug) –> SC ABduction (SC joint inferior movement)
Scapular Depression (Lowering Shoulder) –> SC ADduction (SC joint superior movement)

SC Joint Flexion/Extension Dx
Protraction of Scapula –> SC Flexion (SC Joint Posterior Glide)
Retraction of Scapula –> SC Extension (SC Joint Anterior Glide)

SC Elevated/Adducted SD: ART
Neck flexed against table

SC Elevated/Adducted SD: MET

SC Horizontal Extension SD: MET

Clavicle Anterior & Superior Glide (Extended and Adducted SD) ART

AC Joint Dx
Reference point
Inspect for asymmetry
Palpate
Motion Screen
Assess glides springing inferiorly on distal clavicle
Distal end of clavicle
Look for shifted clavicle: Superior/Inferior, “Step-Off”
Clavicle on Acromion for “Step-Off” or Tenderness/TTA
Cross-Arm Adduction Test (Positive = Pain or Increased TTA)
Resistant to springing inferiorly (Clavicle Superior); Presence of springing inferiorly (Clavicle Inferior); (Ant/Post) - Springing Ant/Post
Cross Arm Adduction Test

AC Joint IR/ER Evaluation
ER of Humerus –> ER of Clavicle at AC Joint
IR of Humerus –> IR of Clavicle at AC Joint
Abduct and Flex to approximately 45 to maximally engage AC component of GH rotation

AC-Superior Clavicle ART
