It includes those individuals who choose to live together for a variety of reasons: relationship,financial,changing values.

Head of the family,provider,disciplinarian.

Housewife-household management, child-bearing responsibility.
Mother
Assist parents during household work during early years, provide financial help, provide financial support in old age.

Basic building block of the society.

Provides financial aid for members as well as meet the monetary needs of the society.

It is met by the birth of children.
Reproductive function
This is a major importance and includes teaching,transmitting beliefs,values,attitude and coping.
Socialization function
Establishing a mutually satisfying marraige, planning to have or not have family.
Beginning family
Having and adjusting to infant,supporting the needs of all three members,renegotiating martial relationships.
Child-bearing family
Adjusting to cost of family life,adapting the needs to pre-school children to stimulate growth and development,coping with parental loss of energy and privacy.
Family with pre-school and children
Adjusting to the activity of growing children, promoting joint decisions between children and parents, encouraging and supporting children’s educational achievements.
Family with school age
Maintaning open communication among members, supporting ethical and moral values within the family,balancing freedom with responsibility,releasing young adults with appropriate ritual assistance,strenghtening marital relationships,maintaining supportive home base.
Family with teenagers and young adults
Renewing and redefining marraige relationship, preparing for retirement years.
Post parental family
Adjusting to retirement,dealing with the loss of spouse and peers,valuing the wisdom and expirience of elderly.
Aging family
State of complete physical,mental and social well being.
Health
State in which someones need are not sufficiently met to allow the individual to have a sense of physical and psyco-social well being.
Illness
Health is the state of being free of signs or symptoms of disease.
Medical model
Health is a constantly changing state.
