Q

What is a myocardial infection (heart attack)?

A

When an artery gets blocked the body is deprived of blood circulation and loses its connection/stream of nutrients and oxygen. Without this systems get shut down or face permanent deteriorative damage. Heart muscle can start do die if the blockage/clot persists.
If the blockage goes away it is called angina but can happen again.

Q

What is cardiac arrest?

A

In short cardiac arrest is when the heart stops beating or pumping blood to the rest of the body. It is not the same as a heart attack because circulation is not stopped by blockage but rather the engine (heart) stops completely.
