What is the mission of the CRC?

A

The CRC is subordinate to the AOC and is the primary command, control and surveillance facility within the TACS. The CRC is assigned a geographical AOR where it directs all air defense and airspace management activities.

What are some tasks that the CRC do?

A

CRC is equipped, manned and trained to establish communications, provide continuous surveillance, assist in air rescue operations, provide aircraft control and advisory services, establish and maintain data links, gather and forward intelligence products, provide classification of airborne objects and provide threat warnings to forward, lateral and subordinate elements.

What are the Battle Staff mission crew positions and a brief description?

A
Squadron Commander (DO)- ensure facilitation, planning, direction, coordination, and control of support activities of the unit's subordinate mission support sections.
Battle Staff Coordinator- direct link between the CC/DO and the mission crews and is responsible to the BC in the management and direction of the air defense and airspace control activities within the assigned area.
Mission Crew Commander- responsible to the CC/DO for the overall supervision of the mission crew and for the direction of tactical air power within the AOR.

What are the Weapons section mission crew positions and a brief description?

A

Senior Director- SD is responsible to the MCC for the assignment of allocated weapons and for coordinating and directing WD/AWO and ADAFCO activities.
ADAFCO- responsible to the SD for the employment of ADA assets in defense of friendly sites.
Weapons Director- responsible to the SD for the control of aircraft within the AOR.

What are the Surveillance mission crew positions and a brief description?

A

ASO- responsible to the MCC for surveillance, airspace, and data link functions. Tries to provide the most accurate and current picture of the air situation.

AST- responsible to the ASO for surveillance, airspace , control, data link management functions as well as equipment readiness. The AST coordinates with the ASO to ensure air picture accuracy and distribution over the TDL network.

ICT- establishes and maintains effective TDLs with other units. The ICT can also prepare the operations module equipment for use by setting up the internal & external communication equipment and loading and maintaining the database

EPT- TPS-75 radar, works to keep the best possible radar data flowing in the OMs countering the effects of weather or electronic attack.

ST- performs the most fundamental job: detecting aircraft within the AOR, initiates computer tracking of the object and categorizes it as friendly enemy or unknown.
