A
NATO was a military alliance formed against the USSR. This involved all western european countries and the USA.

USSR saw it as a threat → Led to Warsaw Pact (1955).

What was the Warsaw Pact 1955?
A
NATO influenced the Warsaw Pact to happen. It was the defence of the USSR through its satellite states in order to act as a communist shield protecting Russia and other countries in allegiance with it.

Poland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, and East Germany.
