What is a non religious argument in favour of capital punishment?
Punishment is all about retribution. The only retribution for a murderer is for the murders life to be taken.
What is a Christian argument in favour of capital punishment?
The Roman Catholic Church and the Church of England have both made statements which permit capital punishment.
What is a Muslim argument in favour of capital punishment?
Capital punishment is used in some countries that follow Shar’iah law.
What is a non religious argument against capital punishment?
We can not be sure the court will always get it right. Innocent people could be given the death sentence even though they have done nothing wrong.
