Q
What are some Crime Scene and Suspect recall factors?
A
-Traumatic scene may affect recall (i.e. People threatened by a weapon focus more on weapon than on perpetrator’s face).
-Time spent focusing on perpetrator’s face is proven to impact on recall.
- Unique and distinct features such as tattoos allow for better recall of perpetrator’s appearance. Masks and disguises would make this more difficult as these festures may not be seen.
-The time of day of the crime and a person’s view of the scene may affect recount of the scene
