De- escalation tactics?
Proactive actions, used by an officer to stabilize a law enforcement situation so that more time, options and resources are available to gain a person’s voluntary compliance and reduce or eliminate the need to use force, including, but not limited to: verbal persuasion, warnings, slowing down the pace of an incident, including but not limited to calling in medical or licensed mental health person.
Behavior is?
Behavior is caused by a need which mobilizes a persons energy to reach a desired goal, as the need becomes more intense, a persons efforts to achieve the goal become more vigorous.
Behaviors
Are impacted by many things, a persons upbringing culture, lived experiences, socio- economics standing and age are just some ways.
Culture?
The customary beliefs, social forms, and material traits of a racial, religious or social group.
Crisis?
A serious interruption in equilibrium. It is that state in which emotional simply becomes too great for the individual to handle and cope. A time when emotions are high and reasons are low.
Respect?
Due regards for the feelings, wishes, rights, or traditions of others. A feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements.
What is cultural competence?
the ability to shift cultural perspective and adapt ones behavior to cultural similarities and differences, if this concept seems daunting, a simple practice can help you remember the essential of cultural competence.
Empathy?
The ability to understand and imagine what another person is feeling. The ability to accurately describe emotional state of another.
Ego?
The self especially as contrasted with another self or the world.

Attitude?
A Settled way of thinking or feeling about someone or something, typically one that is reflected in a persons behavior. Attitudes are learned, people attitudes are shaped by their environments. class/gender/age
Misinterpreting:
someones behavior can also create problems.
may be cause by a persons limitation both physically and emotionally.
your behavior is not always determined by what you currently experience in the world.
Attitudes can also shape how officers interpret behavior and how it is impacted by a persons attitude.
Physiological survival needs?
A basic need for survival, which may cause persons to break law.
Security/safety needs?
Related to an orderly, stable, predictable and safe environment.
