crude oil Flashcards

(16 cards)

1
Q

method to make crude oil:

A

heat oil until it vaporizes
longest fractions will stay liquid and collect at the bottom
fractioning column hottest at bottom coolest at top
vapours rise until they reach their boiling point then condense
collected as a mixture with simple boiling point
shortest chain compounds found at the top, longest at bottom
