Universal paired actions
Paired actions work best together to support the optimal alignment for the majority of the students.
Body parts:
Feet and ankles
Pelvis
Shoulder girdle
Neck and head
Diagonal paired actions
Create opposing rotation in arm or leg (upper arm or thigh)
Stabilizing actions
Used proactively to encounter the possible risks in a pose.
Either statically (already in the pose) or proactively (during or before the transition into a pose).
Useful stabilizing cues:
* Foundation cues (stabilizes balance, lifts out of gravity)
* Midline/adductor cues (stabilizes balance and the pelvis)
* Core (stabilizes the low back)
* Bending of the knees (prevents hyperextension)
Cueing root-rebound
Cue students to root into their foundation (feet, hands or whatever most suitable touching the ground)
Use linking language
Then cue students to reach through their periphery towards the sky, ceiling etc.
