- There were 1990 results from infants.
- All studies compromised of at least 35 mother-infants pairs and used infants aged two years or younger.

- To asses similarities and differences in the amount of Type A, B and C classification across countries.
- To asses the extent of between and within cultural differences in attachment types of different countries.

- There was wide variations
- Secure attachment was most common in classification in all countries.
- However, proportions varied from 75% in Britain to 50% in China.
- In individualistic cultures rates of insecure-resistant attachment were the least common.
