increased availability and emphasis on the consumption of goods and services:consumer goods are widely available, excessive consumption and debt associated with it is widely normalised:leisure pursuit, influenced by advertising industry and celebrity influence.

growing trend of cultural products and activities becoming universal, brands,food, film are identical across many different countries due to globalisation
