Dry only. If used on wet hair, it could pull and remove too much as the hair clumps together.
Would you use a razor on wet hair, dry hair or both?
Both. However if used on dry hair it could pull the hair causing discomfort for the client.

Anything above or below 90 degrees

Why must gloves be worn when using a razor?
To prevent cross infection
Why is it important to position tools for ease of use?
For an efficient service, prevent fatigue, reduce the risk of an accident.

For client comfort and to protect clothing.
Why must you confirm the final result with the client?
To ensure the client is happy.

May need to be adapted to cover baldness

Piercings may need to be removed if too close to the cutting area.

How would you maintain your scissors?
Clean and sterilise after each client.
How would you maintain your clippers?
Remove any hair clippings. Use clippercide after each cut.
How would you maintain your razor?
Dispose of blades after every cut, in a sharps bin. For fixed blades, sterilise after every client.
What effect is created with scissor over comb?
What effect is created with fading?
Very close cut blended into the rest of the hair.
Why is tension important when cutting hair?
Too much tension will result in the hair being cut too short. Uneven tension will give an uneven result.
What effects can be achieved using trimmers?
Defines and outlines. Create designs.
What effects can be achieved using clippers?
Removing bulk. Create fading and blending.
What effects can be achieved using No 2 attachment?
