Q

TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF OR WALK ME THROUGH YOUR RESUME

A

20+ years experience in engineering, analytics, loss prevention, management Project Management

The majority of my career was in engineering – where I did problem-solving and troubleshooting cellular network problems

At ATT, I worked with large complex datasets to identify trends and optimize performance and I did this by using tools such as SQL, Tableau, and Power Bi

I thrive in roles where I can identify inefficiencies, and recommend process improvements.

Being a project manager I’ve learned to be highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven and I make sure that all my reports are delivered on time and with precision.

I’m excited about this CVS opportunity because my skills and experience align well with the role of Informatics Manager

Q

Can you walk me through a time when you used data to drive a business decision?

A

At AT&T, there was a time when we saw a big increase in customer complaints, with drops coming from a specific area.

The issue was that we couldn’t find the root cause of the problem through our normal reporting process. Therefore, something had to be done that was beyond our conventional troubleshooting techniques.

What I did was using SQL, I did queries to get large amounts of historical data for the area and analyzed it using Power BI.

By doing this I was able to identify the root causes of the problem, which came from a new cell site that had been launched in the area and had some parameters with the wrong setting.
We had the settings corrected, I monitored the call data after the correction was done, and within two weeks, the excessive network complaints stopped, and call failures in the area were back to normal.

As a result of this, we updated the SOP to ensure a proper check was done on all settings after a new cell site was built.

Q

How do you handle working with large, complex datasets?

A

My Process is to first:
* Consider the ask or the problem.
* Then I collect relevant data using Excel or SQL queries
* Validating the data by cleaning it again using Excel or SQL
* I visualize the data using tools like Excel or Tableau
* I break down the data however I need to and I analyze it and get my findings
* I interpret the data by using tools like Tableau or Power BI to answer the question or the problem.

Q

How do you prioritize and manage multiple projects?

A

I use a combination of priority matrices and project management tools to manage multiple projects.

The way I do this is by
* First I assess urgency and impact. I prioritize all tasks based on business impact and deadline, making sure that all critical work is handled first.
* Then, I use time-blocking and milestone setting to break down projects into manageable phases with clear deadlines.
*
I use tools such as Asana, Trello, or Notion to monitor deadlines and stay on top of it.
and of course, through it all, I always have good communication with the stakeholders –making sure that they are always updated with the progress and roadblocks to maintain transparency.

Q

What do you know about this position?

A

From my understanding, the Informatics Manager role involves analyzing large datasets, producing trends and forecasts, improving reporting processes, and ensuring data accuracy. It also requires you to lead meetings and work with other cross-functional teams

This role is a great fit for me because I have done all of that working in Engineering. I have worked on root cause analysis, creating processes, and implementing them. I’ve led many meetings working with technical teams and not-so-technical teams.

I feel that my background in engineering analytics, SQL, and Tableau will allow me to contribute significantly to the team

Q

Can you describe a time you improved a process?

A

In my previous role, we had a data reporting process that was using an internal system that took too long to generate and was prone to errors.

I created a project in which I was the lead.

We analyzed the data and identified what metrics we needed to keep, strip, and add.

Using SQL queries, I was able to extract the information needed and transfer the data into simple Excel reports.

The result was we were able to reduce the amount of time to get the information from hours to minutes thus increasing efficiency by 28%.

Q

What is your experience with forecasting and trend analysis?

A

I have experience conducting forecasting and trend analysis in both network engineering and Loss Prevention. For example,

In Engineering, I worked on a project predicting network congestion in highly congested areas such as a football stadium.

We did this so we could optimize bandwidth allocation in the stadiums specifically for when they had game events

To do this I used:
 Historical data analysis to identify usage patterns.
 Predictive modeling to forecast future capacity needs.
 Visualization tools like Tableau to visually see the outcomes and present them to stakeholders

Q

How do you ensure data accuracy?

A

Data accuracy is very important, and I do it by doing a lot of Data Validation through cross-checks using SQL scripts, Excel, or whatever internal tool we have to do data cleaning, review outliers, and identify anomalies.

Q

Do you have experience leading meetings or working with business stakeholders?

A

Yes, I have extensive experience leading meetings and working with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

In my previous roles, I frequently led:
* Often had to do presentations to stakeholders on Network projects
* Lead Cross-functional meetings between engineering and customer operations teams.
* Have meetings with my peers to discuss process improvement and optimize workflows.
* For example, I once facilitated a meeting where I helped bridge the gap between Sales and reporting problems to the Network

Q

Why did you leave your small business?

A

Running my small business was an incredibly valuable experience that allowed me to develop skills in problem-solving, customer service, marketing, and business operations.

However, I realized that I miss being part of a structured team environment where I can contribute my skills in a collaborative setting.

Additionally, I’m looking for stability, growth opportunities, and the ability to focus on my strengths in analytics and operational efficiency, which align well with this role at CVS.

I’m excited about the possibility of bringing my experience and entrepreneurial mindset to a company like CVS that values innovation and customer-focused solutions.

Q

Why did you retire from ATT

A

After spending over 20 years at AT&T, I made the decision to retire to pursue a long-time dream of design and entrepreneurship.

During my career, I gained extensive experience in analytics, engineering support, and problem-solving, which gave me a strong foundation to start my own business.

I wanted to challenge myself in a new way, develop new skills, and explore my creativity while also having more flexibility.

Running my own business was an incredible learning experience, but now I’m looking forward to re-entering the workforce in a role where I can leverage both my corporate expertise and entrepreneurial mindset to contribute to a dynamic team.
