He wanted to protect Russia from Western attack. It would be made up of satellite states in eastern Europe (they would be under control of the USSR)

-Britan was economically runied after WW2 - He wanted Poland to be self determined -wanted to establish free and fair elections in Poland as well as fair borders between Germany and Poland
